Event

The N2 Event 2019 unites selected leading scientists from academic research and industry with excellent doctoral researchers from various research fields of N2—the biggest association of doctoral researchers in Germany. In this interdisciplinary atmosphere we will have presentations, workshops and open discussions about the role of basic research and how it can contribute to and translate into commercial interest. Connecting young scientist with experienced pioneers as well as basic research with industry will contribute to mutual exchange, growing networks between disciplines and discovering new perspectives.

Registration is open! Click here.

The N2 Event 2019 is part of Berlin Science Week 2019.

We are grateful for financial support by the Joachim Herz Foundation.

The previous N2 Event 2017 with around 150 participants took place in the Museum of Natural Science in Berlin.

Venue: Umweltforum Berlin

The Umweltforum Berlin has a long and interesting history: After its restauration, the former church of resurrection served as meeting point for the opposition of the GDR. In the early 2000s, the church was transformed into a conference center, that combines architectural history with the modern world. It is the perfect location for our interdisciplinary meeting of early career scientists.

You will find potential accomodations close to the venue here soon.

Career Fair

15. November 2019, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

The N2 Career Fair is organized by doctoral researchers for doctoral researchers from the Max Planck Society, the Helmholtz Association and the Leibniz Association.

However, if you are interested in the N2 Career Fair, you are welcome as well! To make the N2 Career Fair available to as much participants as possible, no registration fee is charged! You can also participate, if you are not joining the N2 Event and register for the N2 Career Fair independently.

What can you expect at the N2 Career Fair?
Meet your potential future employer! Companies interested in hiring talented doctoral researchers will have a booth, where you can meet recruiters, learn about possible future job profiles and positions, discover open positions and explore potential career paths.
Talks and workshops will further provide detailed new insights in the respective companies and their requirement concerning employee choice. Find out what makes you attractive for a career outside of academia!
Alumni from the Max Planck Society, the Helmholtz Association and the Leibniz Association will present how they mastered a successful transition from academia to industry and share personal insights and advice. Learn about the experiences of alumni, who already went the path.
